ATTENTION: MR. GREGORY D. BELL SR.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
To The Concerned,
I am writing to invite you to participate in the growth of a relatively new non-profit corporation. Insight For New Housing Incorporated is a community based non-profit with three primary goals:
1. The development of housing for the blind and visually impaired;
2. Improving the quality of life for the visually impaired through the dissemination of information; and
3. To advocate for the issues that confront the visually impaired person's lifestyle.
Incorporated in May of 2000, it has been the experience of this young corporation that startup capital is difficult to obtain, even though the uniqueness of Insight is that no other corporation exists that has these goals within its corporate documents. To date, the Board of Directors has raised funds for the general operation of Insight for New Housing by using personal income. Along with the help of Highbridge Unity Center, which has supplied office space for Insight at 1465 Nelson Avenue in the Bronx, Insight has collaborated with Highbridge on a project to develop 65 units of housing for the visually impaired and veterans.
As executive director of Insight, I am asking that you support our efforts to improve the lives of those who have been silent and somewhat forgotten. Your contribution will help to continue Insight's innovative initiatives, such as the speaking community calendar which is currently under development at Bronx-Net Television (stations 67-70). It is the hope of Insight that other community calendars will also alter their formats to include all disabled and not exclude the visually impaired and blind community.
We hope that you will share the knowledge that Insight exists and is working hard for the creation of a community sensitive to the visually impaired. Any contribution, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Gregory D. Bell, Sr.
