Insight For New Housing Inc. is a newly formed New York non-profit organization bringing a truly new concept in living environments to the region's blind and visually impaired community. Mr. Gregory D. Bell, Sr. heads this innovative corporation.

Insight is designing and developing housing for the blind and visually impaired population of the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania tri-state area. Insight is filling a market niche that until now has not been addressed and represents a significant need of this community.

According to the February 1999 presentation of VISIONS (a service agency for the blind and visually impaired), "the number of people over 65 years of age with a self-reported vision impairment will double within the next 30 years."

Unless their needs are addressed with respect to housing and other basic needs, the situation will be difficult to manage. Please note that these individuals are 35 years old at present. There is a research document generated by the Arlene A. Gordon foundation dated March 1999 that will lead you to a similar conclusion as VISIONS.

Quality, affordable housing, along with community sensitivity to the needs of this population is essential.
